Sharing My Expertise: A Photographer's Guide
As a professional wedding photographer specialising in elopements and small weddings in Scotland, I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge and insights with couples planning an elopement. Glencoe is nothing short of magical, offering a dream location for elopement photography.
Glencoe's Diverse Backdrops
Glencoe boasts a variety of locations, each with its own picturesque and unique scene. We have an amazing tour list that we can cover in approximately six hours (plus a lunch break in your wedding gear!).
Buachaille Etive Mor: This iconic, pyramid-shaped mountain dominates the landscape, making it one of Scotland's most photographed mountains. Picture infront of and including the waterfall are a must!
The James Bond Skyfall Location: This scenic spot lies on the winding single-track road following the River Etive between Buachaille Etive Mor and Buachaille Etive Beag. While getting married directly on the road isn't ideal, venturing down a bit still captures the famous view. Some amazing waterfalls here as well - great for a drone shot!
Loch Etive: This secluded location offers a stunning 12-mile drive on the Etive Road, ending at a beach and car park with the loch bieng a five minute walk away. On calm days, the loch reflects the surrounding mountains and can only be described as epic. Be cautious on blind corners, especially in winter, as deer frequently roam the road.
The "wee white house," a popular Instagram backdrop, and the nearby stony beach next to the River Etive offer unique ceremony options. Also the location for our epic cover image on the home page! Thanks to Heather and Alan for this one :)
Glencoe Lochan: This hidden gem boasts a spectacular view with Ben Lomond in the background. Accessible by car and a short walk, it provides a unique and secluded setting.
Glencoe Mountain Resort: For adventurous couples, Glencoe Mountain Resort offers a thrilling elopement location. Reaching the top involves a fun chairlift ride followed by a hike, perfect for capturing breathtaking panoramic views.
Three Sisters Viewpoint
This viewpoint requires a short but steep climb, but the reward is a magnificent view down the glen framed by the entire Bidean Nam Bian (The Three Sisters) mountain range. Alternatively - a simple panorama from the main car park can impress as well.
Castles
What is Scotland without castles? We have two you can choose from but it does add a fair little bit of travel on the day.
Glencoe - Elopements covering your ceremony and a tour of Glencoe for the all important images - £850
Glencoe - Couples Shoot - looking for a memorable set of images without the timing restrictions on a wedding day - £550
The above can be tailored to your exact requirements - drop us an email to discuss your Highland Adventure with us.
